Marco began his career in journalism, winning a Royal Television Society award and a BBC Ruby award for his work in news and current affairs. He made the transition to filmmaking five years ago, and his short films have screened to critical acclaim at festivals all over the world, including the prestigious Encounters festival in the UK and the world famous San Diego Comic Con in the USA. When not directing, Marco writes films with his writing partner Kat Wood.
Phil gained a Master of Arts Degree in Cinematography at the Northern Film School and has built his reputation by creating strong cinematic images for both film and TV. His recent credits include ChickLit (feature film starring John Hurt, Dame Eileen Atkins & Christian McKay), Our World War (BBC Three drama) and The Voorman Problem (Oscar and Bafta nominated short film).
Phil holds both British and Canadian passports and is based in London and Manchester. He is represented by Laura Reeve at Berlin Associates.
Paul has worked throughout Europe as a senior project manager. He now specialises in business change consultancy including investing in his own projects. He has an outstanding track record of successful projects and businesses. He has recently been involved in financing small independent films and in particular, designing new business models for digital markets.
Both former journalists, Marco and Kat have been writing together for the last five years. In addition to writing Arthur & Merlin , they have recently completed a writing assignment for an Emmy award-winning production company in Los Angeles. In 2014 they were voted onto the Tracking Board’s annual ‘Young and Hungry List’, a list of the top 100 emerging screenwriters in Hollywood, as voted for by industry professionals. Kat and Marco are represented by Jeff Belkin in the New York office of Zero Gravity Management.
Joe Burrows is a Yorkshire based filmmaker. Having winged his way onto a BBC set at the age of 17, he's been working in film and TV ever since. In 2010 he won the Factual Royal Television Student award for a documentary he produced. Having come from a varied background - from camera assisting with the BBC to boom operating feature films - he now specialises in running film sets as a 1st AD. Arthur and Merlin is Joe's fourth feature film.
Graham grew up in Dublin, Ireland, and his interest in film music was planted before he was even 10 years old when he first heard the scores of John Williams.
However, Graham didn't start composing until 2010, when he decided to renew his love/hate relationship with the piano, study orchestration, and begin composing for film, games, audio books, and trailers.
Graham's work has been performed by both the Carolina Philharmonic and the Washington Symphony.
Rob has extensive experience as a producer and line producer, as well as being the founder of the South Yorkshire Film Network. He has produced notable independent films, including Entity (starring Dervla Kirwan and Charlotte Riley). He also recently managed production of the psycho-thriller Dementamania starring Kal Penn and Vincent Regan.
Previous to Arthur & Merlin , Belle has designed Chicklit (a romantic comedy featuring John Hurt and Dame Eileen Atkins), The Seventeenth Kind (comedy sci-fi), and an advert for Pepsi Africa.
Other recent work includes The Contract (thriller), Confession (Victorian period drama), Riot on Redchurch Street (contemporary music scene drama), The Silver Goat (black & white drama, iPad App), The Sky in Bloom (witty crime world drama, winner of numerous awards), and costumes for Nightmare Box (arty horror).
Jim'sbeen an editor for 10 years, cutting everything from commercials for Disney and Sony, tofeature lengthdocumentaries for the BBC and Discovery. He has cut over 50 short films, including those funded by Film London andCreative England iShorts.
His work has screened atfestivals worldwide, including the New York Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, and Raindance. In both 2013 and 2014he was selected to be part of BAFTA Crew, an initiative to develop ‘100 stars of tomorrow’.
Enos is a Finnish/Canadian sound designer and sound effects editor based in London working on feature films and video games.
His credits include films like The Sweeney (Ray Winstone, Damian Lewis) featuring big car chases and shootouts, A Single Shot (Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy) as well as some of the Need for Speed video game titles.
A strong attention to detail and love of sonic textures, combined with an understanding of storytelling through sound, gives Enos the skills to weave detailed and unique sonic worlds and moments into the projects he works on, ultimately supporting and enhancing that which is most important, the story being told.
Following a late career change 8 years ago, Marie is now about to design her 10th feature film, the sequel to the nineties cult hit I.D. for Parallax and Universal. She also has TV credits including Downton Abbey , Ripper Street , Call the Midwife and the current series of DCI Banks .
She has worked alongside screen heavyweights such as Tim Roth, Vanessa Redgrave and Rupert Everett to name a few.
When not working in film and TV, Marie has a passion for music and occasionally produces music videos for up and coming bands. Otherwise she can be found hiking around Derbyshire with her beloved rescue dogs Rasper and Mamie.
Caroline Pires has worked in the visual effects industry for seven years as both an artist and supervisor. After her studies at Escape Studios, she went on to work on major blockbuster titles and eventually became part of an Oscar-winning visual effects team for Martin Scorsese's "Hugo 3D".
She has become a master of VFX for TV and advertising, having worked withFramestore, Saddington Baynes, Mainframe, Vine FX, Pixomondo, NvizibleandCinesiteto name just a few of the facilities listed on her CV. Now the founder of her own businessNerdeo, Caroline has applied her wealth of experience to create an online collaboration platform for professionals within the independent film, TV and gaming industries.
Louisa studied costume design at Edinburgh College of Art and has been working professionally in the industry ever since. She has designed for music videos, commercials and short films, with Arthur and Merlin being her first feature length film.
